Job Description: Our client is one of the largest retail banks in the UK with a number of leading market positions. Its retail banking services include deposit accounts, credit cards, loans, and wealth management. Other products include insurance and investment services and wholesale and international banking for UK corporate clients and multinationals.
The successful candidate will lead and control the Business Performance Management function, to deliver agreed business targets, strategies and plans.
Skills/Experience: Key Capabilities / Knowledge:

- Highly developed analytical skills in particular shareholder value metrics.
- Ability to collaborate to plan, execute and deliver.

- Comprehensive knowledge and wide practical experience across a number of financial services disciplines.

- Understanding of emerging products and their impact and usage within the Mortgage industry.

- Experience with relevant complex margin and pricing management.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage market a plus.

Education: 
An undergraduate degree is required; an advanced qualification would be an advantage.
Responsibilities: Specific Responsibilities:

- Develop and own all high level business models, pricing models and product profitability engine.
- Provide the business with high quality financial analysis and commercial insight.
- To liaise with Group and Retail balance sheet management teams to optimise Group and Divisional funding and interest rate risk.
- Full responsibility for the day to day running of the Business Performance Management function within Mortgages business, managing a team of 65 people.
- To develop and implement business plans, budgets and strategies to achieve agreed business targets for Business Performance Management.
- Lead and motivate Business Performance Management colleagues to achieve their individual and collective performance targets.
- Ensure that the Business Performance Management function is managed to agreed standards of Risk Effectiveness, compliant with Group standards and regulatory requirements, to protect the interests of the Group.
- Ensure that customers are treated fairly and have robust MI/assurance processes in place to verify this on an ongoing basis.
- Responsible for provision of product and customer profitability analytics and for business modelling.
- Carry out cash flow forecasting to establish wholesale funding requirement from Group.
- To oversee business capital usage and impairment methodologies.
- To develop ad hoc business insight as required but primarily for Finance Director, Commercial Director and Managing Director.
- To evaluate all product and business development opportunities.
