Skills/Experience: Position Summary: As the Head of Value Portfolio Risk ($30B+ in receivables, the role is accountable to the Value Business Mgr regarding all matters related to Risk Management for this portfolio. This includes a full credit cycle view- acquisitions, existing account mgmt, high risk account strategy, collections and fraud. There is accountability for overall P&L, Net Credit Losses (NCL) and Fraud loss performance. The role also has functional responsibility for overall Cards Acquisitions and new product credit policy and strategy. These are especially key to meeting the Cards business new account target (2+ million for 2010) and revenue targets with sustainable risk and profitability performance.

Qualifications
Business and Technical Requirements

- Full knowledge of card product P&L dynamics and the interaction of consumer behaviors, product configuration and market/economic environment
- Strong analytic skills and can quickly make sense of the numbers and translate into business decisions
- Familiarity with risk management tools including behavior scores, internal and external data sources, data mining/ segmentation applications
- Successfully managed policy strategy through extremes in the economic environment. Protecting and growing the business as it enters and exits economic stress
- Hands on experience with portfolio performance monitoring and diagnostics
- Strong knowledge of the applicable regulations and current environment which govern our policies and practices

- Sr. executive interactions- can present credibly to both large and small groups

Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities

- Accountable to the Head or Risk and Business Head for overall performance of the Value portfolio requiring strong engagement with the business and central risk teams. Work with the business to formulate the overall business Strategy and plan. Work with the Business to achieve goals in alignment with risk appetite
- Manage and continually innovate the Acquisitions strategies/ policies across all businesses and products for the cards organization
- Work with partners in affiliate channel including the organizations retail branches to drive cross-sell opportunities
- Manage commercial card portfolio. Build our capability and expertise in this space

- Manage the judgmental review strategies and develop innovative solutions to deliver products to our applicant base
- Interaction with/influence Senior stakeholders, Global Risk, cross-functional partners, strategic vendors and regulators
- Build and lead a high performing risk mgmt team. Leverage expertise and experience to develop a pipeline of talented leaders
